Sponsoring
Note From The Chairman 8/27
Invite a friend to take an Emmaus Walk.
There is basically no waiting list to go on an Emmaus Walk. This is a blessing for all of us in the community.
Just 10-years ago, unless you were a spouse or minister, the waiting list was 2-3 years to get scheduled on an Emmaus weekend!
The September Men’s Walk has numerous slots available for Pilgrims. If you have ever thought about sponsoring someone on a Walk, now is the time.
But, remember, Emmaus is not for everyone.
The Walk was designed to build and prepare leaders within the Christian church. It was not designed to fix broken marriages or to heal broken bodies or spirits.
If you have never sponsored anyone before and have concerns, call any of the board members. We’ll be glad to help you be an excellent sponsor. Our sponsorship chairs are Bob Brown (783-3048) and Betty Starkey (685-5002).
God Bless you for doing His work.
Being a sponsor is a very important part of
your fourth days
Please pray about whom you should be sponsor first .
Get all the info on sponsoring first. Then go at it !
Be prepared to serve in a most awesome way!
If you need help or have questions there are
some board
members that can help you out with sponsoring a person.

If the answer
is "No", the Women's and Men's Good Shepherd are here to help.
Please let us know you are looking. If the answer is "Yes", we
would also like to hear from you. Following an Emmaus Walk, new members of
the community are often looking for a share group.
Sometimes Community members who have been around awhile are also looking
for one. If you are in an active
share group, you can help by contacting the Women’s or Men's Good Shepherd and let them
know about your group. We are in the
process of compiling a database of active Share Groups.
The database will be used to help anyone who may be looking for a group,
find one in their area. We are
looking for basic information; when and where you meet and the name and phone
number of one member of the group who would serve as a point of contact.
We would love to hear from you. The
Women’s Good Shepherd is Sue Ellis and the Men’s Good Shepherd is Jim Wingo.
Please contact either one with your group’s information or if you are
in need of finding a group.
